This lab has kits for performing all the electrical circuit experiments to verify various network theorems. It also has various electrical generators and transformers.
In this lab we have equipment, instruments, integrated circuit chips(ICs) and all other components to perform experiment based on both electrical and digital electronics.
Both AC and DC electrical machines and transformers are installed in this lab to perform all the required experiments on electrical machines.
This lab has both 8085, 8086 and various other microcontrollers chip in sufficient numbers and various interfacing devices like 8253, 8255, ADC and DAC reader card, EPROM program and EPROM eraser.
This laboratory mainly focuses on research in the areas of variable speed drive and generating systems, including optimal design of electric machines using finite element method, power electronics device characterization and power circuit synthesis, analysis and application, on-line digital signal processor application to variable speed systems, and advanced control theory application to variable speed systems.
Experiments for measurement of electrical parameters like resistance, inductance, capacitance, etc. are performed in this lab by using of advanced practical kits.
This laboratory imparts the knowledge about different system controlling & system response parameters. Real time control applications like Stepper Motor Control, P, PI & PID controller are done in this laboratory using various control kits.
This is a core laboratory which provides the elaborate knowledge about working of the A.C. & D.C. Machines. The performance characteristics like efficiency, speed, torque, slip, etc. can be noted down for relevant readings of various experiments.
This laboratory imparts the knowledge about power system protection & various switch gears used for power system. Advanced microprocessor based panel are equipped in this laboratory.
The focus of the high voltage laboratory is in the area of technologies for a future sustainable electric energy supply, in particular electric energy transmission.


The Department offers training in front end and back end technologies in the field of Information Technology through an elaborate set of laboratories which are fully air-conditioned connected with servers, UPS and printers. In Data Structure Lab, students implement various data structure type like Array, List, Stack, Queue, Graph and Tree using the 'C' Language. Turbo C/C++ compiler is used for their implementation. Students also evaluate the complexity of the program.
This lab is very important for the students as it provides the full knowledge about the Personal Computer. Students studies the each hardware part of the computer, how to assemble a Personal Computer, installing an Operating System and Troubleshooting a hardware.
In Multimedia Technologies Lab, students perform various programs related to images, sound and video. Students perform animation techniques like morphing, reflection and create multimedia files using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Flash Professional.
In this lab, students study how to design a database using Oracle 10g. They perform all the Database Operation including creation of tables, joining of two tables, deletion of table and other various queries.
This is the very important lab as it provides the concept of OOPS. Students perform various programs of OOPS concept in Turbo C++ compiler and Microsoft Visual C++ compiler.
In this lab, students learn how to make a web page containing the information. It provides a platform for the students who want to make their career in field of Web Design. Students perform programming in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
This lab makes use of MICROSOFT FOUNDATION CLASS(MFC). VC++ is used in RAD lab as a part of creating windows forms using various controls such as list box, check box, radio buttons etc.
In this lab, students perform and learn DOS commands and Unix Commands. They also do shell programming in Unix C-shell script. They also perform memory allocation and de-allocation algorithms, system calls and interrupt handling.
In this lab, students perform various graphics application using C language and its compiler and create various graphics.
Network Programming Lab consists of various protocols and making students understand the concepts of making socket connection, client server connection.
The main usage of Intelligent System Lab is in Robotics. It uses PROLOG language for the implementation of robotic engineering. Various other concepts are Neural Networks, Genetic algorithm. Software used is GNU PROLOG or TURBO PROLOG.
In this lab, students learn to create various dynamic web pages, web sites using advanced technologies like JSP, ASP, ASP.NET, Servelet and CGI. They also implement OOPS concept in Java Language using J2SDK software.
LAN connection is established by using the wires as well as commands. Various commands such as PING,TRACERT are used as well.
Visual Basic Lab includes making the forms, making and performing clock synchronization.
Students submit a synopsis of Project that will be continued in VIII semester. For this, 3-4 students make a group and a faculty is assigned to give instructions and guidelines to students. In the end of semester, students submit their progress report with presentation in front of Project In-charge, Project Guide and Coordinator.
In this lab, students learn and perform various application based on Networking, Database Connectivity, Remote Methods Invocation, Swing etc. using Java Compiler with MS-Access and MS-SQL Server.
Based on the synopsis submitted by students in VII semester, students continue to develop their project. Project In-charge and respective guide evaluate the project. Students submit their Project Report in the end and submit the project in running with presentation to Project In-charge and Coordinator. Independent Study Seminar Every student will select a topic from emerging areas of Information & Technology and study it thoroughly and independently. Later he will give a seminar talk on the topic to seminar In-charge.


The Department has ten well-equipped laboratories and one central workshop, to give students sufficient exposure to practical works compatible with the classroom learning and through workshop exercise.

The General workshop comprises of fitting shop, carpentry shop, foundry shop, smithy shop and welding shop. The facility is used mostly by first year students of all branches.

Fluid Mechanics Lab and Fluid Mechanics extension lab conduct courses and research Fluid Dynamics and Fluid Machinery. It provides facilities for undergraduate teaching, final year projects and for research work leading to postgraduate degrees. This lab consists of several experimental setups for verifying the basic laws of fluid mechanics and some flow measuring devices. This lab houses experimental setups of a pelton wheel and a Kaplan turbine which facilitate the study and performance test of turbines. Experimental setups for several pumps also serve the same.

The purpose of the Laboratory is to study the mechanical behavior of the structure and machines using theoretical, numerical and experimental methods and to provide teaching on this subject.
Mechanical behavior is understood here to imply the statics, dynamics and stability of both rigid and deformable objects.
It comprises of modern equipments such as metallurgical microscopes, muffle furnace, hydraulic press etc.
The Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing Lab oratory, in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, encompasses research in geometric and solid modeling, CAD/CAM, Computer aided process planning, solid freeform fabrication, computer graphics and visualization, virtual prototyping, and virtual reality.
This lab deals with the strength of a material i.e. its hardness softness fatigue point toughness durability yield point etc. This lab includes the machines by which the strength (impact, tensile, compressive) can be checked along with the variable parameters.
This subject imparts the concepts, principles, procedure, kinematics involved in different machine elements and mechanisms like lever, gear, cam, follower, belt, flywheel, brake, dynamometer, clutch, etc. All of these are regarding the different mechanics going on in moving machine parts and their behavior while movement.


Surveying is the skill of determine the relative positioning point or object by measured angle or distance.
Transversing is done to plot the detail of any building or other structure. whenever there is need of precise measurement the triangulation survey is performed. Plane table ling is the method off surveying in which the field observation and plotting are determine the relative position of point horizontally as well vertically. Contour is an imaginary line on the ground joining the points of equal elevation.

List of experiments:
  • Determine the difference in elevation of two given point.
  • To determine the height of an object the base which is inaccessible using theodolite.
  • To determine the multiplying constant K and additive constant C of tachometer.
  • To find distance & elevation of five points around instrument station.Plotting the details of given area by plane table.
  • Determine the position of instrument station.
  • Contour survey of a given area using square method.
  • To trace out the simple circular curve with the help of chain & tape only.
  • To trace out the simple circular curve by theodolite.
  • To determine the height of tall object by two plane method.

The behaviour of various structure Under the action of loads are studied in S. A. Lab.
Three hinged & two hinged arches experiment are premed to determine the maximum load that a particular arch can sustain.
Apart from maximum load position , horizontal thrust deformation and type of failure are also found out these experiment.
Deformation of beam is determined by Maxwell betti's law verification. This experiment gives the maximum permissible load for a beam for certain deformation. Without knowing the max permissible load a beam cannot be designed . Euler's law verification reveals the behaviour of strut under application of load for different end condition. This law is used in determine the max load & effective length of column and hence its is used in designing columns.

  • To verify moment- area theorem for slope and deflection of beam.
  • To study the behaviour of different type of struts.
  • To determine experimentally and analytically the load s in the three suspension rods supporting the elastic beam withconcentrated loads hung midway b/w two of the suspension rods when
    1. The upper end of the central rod is attached to the centre of similar elastic beam.
    2. To present the experimental study of three hinged arch for a given system of a loading and to compare the result with those obtained analytically.
  • To determine the elastic displacements of curved member experimentally and verification of the values by analytical method
  • To determine experimentally & horizontally.

Transportation engineering is the application of technology and scientific principles to the planning, functional design, operation and management of facilities for any mode of transportation in order to provide for the safe, rapid, comfortable, convenient, economic al and environmentally compatible movement of people and goods. Highway engineering is very important part of Transportation engineering. It includes handling the planning, design, construction and operation of highway, road and vehicular facility.

Flow and fluid property are studied in hydraulic laboratory.
Determing of energy and momentum coefficient help in determing the energy and momentum of flowing fluid without applying these coefficient a designer may reach the wrong decision.
Actual discharge in determined by multiplying the theoretical discharge to a coefficient called discharge coefficient. This coefficient is determined in lab and it is diff for difference orifices, notches and weirs.
Study of weirs, notches and orifice is helpful in designing of them in real life.
Weirs are generally constructed on river bed to raise the water level.
Notches are attached to canal to control the flow of water.

Properties of cement and concrete are determined in concrete lab.
Normal consistency gives the idea about the quality of selection of cement for a particular project. Fineness modulus of cement is related to initial and final setting time of decide the work rate of concreting and the curing.
Generally the cement having less initial setting time is not desirable since the primary bond which have been formed are broken away while concreting.
Compressive & tensile strength determination of concrete is very important in design filed, without knowing the compressive & tensile strength of concrete a concrete structure or any component cannot be designed workability of concrete is also factor which should keep in mind while designing.

  • Determine of water for cement for normal consistency.
  • Determine the initial and final setting time of concrete.
  • Determine the compressive strength of normal mix concrete of a given grade.
  • Determine the modulus of rupture of concrete.
  • Determine the strength of concrete using pulse velocity of ultrasonic waves.
  • Determine of workability of concrete using:
    1. Compaction factor test
    2. Vee-bee slump test
    3. Flow table method
  • Determine the soundness of given cement by le chatelier method.
  • Determine the effect of w/c ratio on strength of cement with given proportion of fine and coarse aggregate and with constant slump of 4 cm.
  • Determine the effect curing condition upon compressive strength of 1:3 Portland cement mortar.
Soil mechanics is a branch of civil that describes the behaviour of differ from fluid mechanics and solid in sense that soil consist of heterogeneous mixture of fluids usually air and water and particles usually clay, silt, sand and gravel.
There are structure that are supported on or made of soil or structure that are buried in soils like bridge foundation, retaining walls, dam system etc. so we need to know the engineering properties of soil. So we conduct laboratory tests to find out various engineering properties of soil.
